Decide if the Clearwater Threshers Rubydoo infant tee fits your baby and your gift plan. Get sizing rules, material facts, and honest trade-offs before you buy.
Quick answer
Buy the Clearwater Threshers Bimm Ridder Infant Rubydoo Tee if you want a soft, officially licensed cotton tee for a baby who is still comfortably within the listed size range, not right at the top of it. For gifts, pair it with a larger size or a flexible return plan, because infant sizing leaves little room for error.
What the Rubydoo tee is—and what it is not
This is a 100% cotton infant tee from Bimm Ridder with officially licensed Minor League Baseball graphics. It is designed for everyday wear and game-day photos, not as a performance or sun-protection layer.
The catalog does not list a fabric weight, stretch percentage, or care instructions beyond the material. That absence matters: if your baby is sensitive to seams or you need a specific wash routine, treat those as open questions rather than assume the tee will behave like other cotton baby clothes.
Why infant sizing is the real decision
Infant sizes vary by brand and by baby. The Rubydoo tee only offers size as an option, and the catalog does not provide a measurement chart. That means the safest approach is to compare the listed size against a tee that already fits your baby, not against your baby's age.
If you are buying for a baby you do not see often, choose a size that leaves room to grow rather than a perfect current fit. A slightly loose cotton tee is more forgiving than one that is already snug at the shoulders.
Gift trade-offs: price, timing, and keepsake value
At $11.68 compared with a $16.00 catalog comparison price, the Rubydoo tee is a low-risk gift that still looks like team gear. The trade-off is that infant clothing has a short wear window, so the gift value comes from the moment and the photos more than long-term use.
If the baby is due soon or just born, a larger infant size often makes more sense than a newborn size. If the baby is already walking, this tee may be too short-lived as a gift; consider a youth tee instead.
Decision rules for buying the Rubydoo infant tee
- When to size up: If the baby is at or near the top of the listed size range, or if you are buying for a baby you will not see in person, choose the next size up. Cotton tees can be worn slightly loose but cannot be stretched if they are too small. Order before the baby outgrows the size, not after.
- When to skip this tee: If you need a guaranteed fit for a specific event, or if the baby is already wearing youth sizes, this infant tee is the wrong product. The catalog does not provide a measurement chart, so there is no way to confirm a precise fit remotely. Choose a youth tee if the child has outgrown infant sizing.
- When it works as a gift: Buy it as a gift when the recipient is a Threshers fan with a baby under 24 months, and when a $11.68 keepsake fits your budget. Pair it with a card that mentions the size so the parents can exchange it if needed. Check the store's return policy before gifting clothing.
